Glad to hear there was someone up there to work with you, Mike. So, what needs to be done to Casey?

I'm surprised that this hasn't been made a separate topic.

Absolutely Guaranteed!!!  Perhaps we should make an inventory list of where tools are located:  toolcar, track house, other location.  That way when we need a tool, we can at least know where to start looking for where the tool WAS located at some previous time.

This would be an aside task to occasionally park the tool car by the track house and relocate tools to their supposed to be proper location.

While it's a good idea, an inventory list would work only if tools get returned to the proper location. Past history indicates that it doesn't necessarily happen. And when that happens, the scavenger hunt is on.

I notice that the propulsion fan has already been installed on the roof. I wonder what the planned forward speed will be and whether the car can operate in reverse.

Five mph (with a strong tail wind), -5 mph into a strong headwind, which I guess would be reverse. :o

The last time I visited, Bryce informed me he was going to learn how to play the bagpipes. Will he be serenading the customers as he manages the parking lot? :o

My father grew up on a farm and had an 8N. It was a tough little tractor.

If the town is going to redo Cross road - this would be the time to put the grade crossing in - to include a second track for the runaround.  There is usually grant money for grade crossing work through the state DOT and it might help costs associated with the Cross road rebuild.  Signal equipment could probably be reused from the several OOS branch lines in the state.

Question - If the crossings were put in, but not connected to the mainline, would the museum still come under FRA regulations?

Work done on Saturday October 16:

* Engine house: More boards went up, some on the main west wall and some on the middle bay west wall.
* Garage: Mike did some re-arranging of the first bay of the garage to accept a "new" tractor (see the story at https://www.wiscassetnewspaper.com/article/alna-spend-close-half-million-cross-road-if-voters-approve/152939 for further details, middle of the article), and worked on some vehicle repairs.
* Boxcar 56: Marcel was working on it.
* Coach 9: Zack was working on assembling a core piece of one of the trucks, a wood-steel sandwich with new wood.
* Board meeting at 4.

That tractor is as old as I am.

Is there enough lumber to sheathe the whole enginehouse?
