This is my first post to the fourm but I've followed it passively from time to time.
Since last fall's Work Weekend, I've been trawling on eBay regularly for WW&F items, usually photos. For the past few months I've communicated with Linda Zollers when I find a WW&F photo or slide newly listed. I'll send her a copy of the listed photo as well as a link to the actual listing descriptions Linda then tells me that she is or is not interested (usually because she already has a copy of the image).
I've been placing bids on behalf of the museum with some success and have the items shipped directly to her attention at the Museum's PO Box. These purchases are charged to my personal credit card and I submit receipts for reimbursement. I notify Linda when bids go high for her advice regarding price limits.
After reading Linda's article in previous newsletter about the space shortage, I offered to bring my Hi-Res scanner and spend 3+ days getting things digitized. I had planned to make the trip this past week but had to postpone the visit due to intense back pains--the 4-5 hour drive from South Burlington VT was just too much. I'll reschedule as soon as things improve.
