Ps we’re not worried about the plow right now.  This is only a 3-6 storm at most and the ground is still above freezing.  We should however get crossing flangeways cleared of mud ASAP.

Now expecting a Strong Nor'easter with 5-10 inches of heavy wet snow later today, and winds gusting NNE 30-40mph.  Plan accordingly.

If you are going to SR&RL tomorrow, make sure you have your masks.  The Governor has mandated masks state wide starting today.  Indoors and outdoors regardless of social distancing.

Both the YouTube and caboose ideas are workable, definitely worth considering, but would require a great deal of dedication.  A YouTube channel can be monetized and provide income.  However, it would be a huge effort as videos would need to be produced regularly.  Adele and I follow several people who make a significant portion of their income doing this.

I was very happy to donate to this worthy cause.  When my wife and I visited Maine in 2002 this was where we stayed.  Yes, I know it was under a previous owner, but it was still very nice, clean, and comfortable.  We had planned to continue on to Acadia and stay there, but this place and the surrounding area charmed us, so we made this our base.  I knew then that this was the area where I wanted to retire.  This business is important to Wiscasset and the surrounding area.  Its loss would be a tragedy and in the coming business climate, it would probably stand empty for a few years.  Even if you don't stay here, a donation would be a great help.

Mike, thanks for confirming what most of us locals already knew.  I think Wayne has said it quite succinctly.  An open area will make for better exhibit space.  I can envision a changing exhibit, perhaps 2 or 3 times a season.  Much like what Maine State Museum (MSM) does.  If interested, I can ask my friend at the MSM if she would be willing to consult with WW&F and MNG on doing special exhibits.  Perhaps this could serve as an additional attractor.

Some of us might consider donating the individual stimulus package payments (if and when they ever arise) to the museum.  At this point, I plan to do that.

That is what I have been planning to do.  Direct deposits should start next week.  What is the best way to do this as I don't use or have paper checks?

On the other hand, with so many people furloughed or laid off during the current COVIS-19 pandemic, many folks may be unable to afford vacation days or time off from work, assuming they actually have work to get back to. We have a lot to think about, and fortunately we have a lot of time to think about it.

I think Wayne is correct.  I suspect that most of the working-age folks will not be able to participate in any workweek/weekend.  SSW is usually used for ballasting.  Perhaps we could do a little each weekend once we are open again.  A couple of flat cars each day wouldn't tax us older folks too much.

I am really happy that Lenny is still there.  Does anyone know if Tina and Lenny still own Ships in Dresden?  I saw Lenny's car there last summer and it looked like he was removing the last of their stuff.  I miss that diner being open.

Another thing that they do, which I very much appreciate, is caption each image.  The lack of captions is prevalent on FB, and very annoying.  A picture is worth a thousand words only if you know what the picture is about.
