Very nice video Joe. Some pics of folks I haven't seen in many a year and some I've likely never seen.  Great job!

A belated Happy Birthday to Dana. And best wishes to the whole gang this weekend. Like Wayne, I won't be attending but I'll be rooting on all the gang working hard to lay track down the mountain and wishing I could be there to help.

John, I'm sure you must be aware of the connectors I use for projects like this: Telephone Splice (Suitcase) Connectors. Simply strip about .25" on the wires to be spliced, slide stripped ends into the connector and squeeze the "crimp spot" firmly to join and seal the wires. Connectors have their own sealant. Used these on all of my outside underground sprinkler zone-control connections. They work well and are long lasting (haven't failed in 10 years of use). Unfortunately, though, they are not resistant to overly zealous heavy equipment operators and mis-placed shovels.

Thanks for the great "update pics". The work you and others have done on the roadbed is really top notch. And the view of the retaining wall you created is really nice. The museum is quite fortunate to have the collection of highly talented members and friends doing all of this rebuilding.

Great work Mike and team. My only regret is that I was not able to be there to lend a hand. It's the sort of project I really enjoy being a part of.

Thank you Benjamin for "waking me up". I wasn't thinking about using the wooden pattern to make a sand casting. My bad, should've put my thinking cap back on.

Just curious, the lettering that can be seen within the 2 patterns appears "normal" and read-able. Shouldn't it be in reverse? Perhaps I'm missing something.

It is quite obvious that a tremendous amount of planning has gone into this bridge project. The use of materials that are far more state of the art than what has been used in the past is good to see for the longevity of this project. What a great team the museum has in the gang that is planning and producing this bridge!

Mike, be careful about leaving the keys in the dozer or you may find the moose and deer have taken it for a ride. LOL

$80 is a very good price. I bought my 2-book set a number of years ago and paid quite a bit more.

Only "might be" involved? Wow, oh ye of modest faith. LOL
In my "neck of the woods" it would be foregone conclusion. I live in front of and abutting a long-ago discontinued trolley ROW, now part of privately-owned property. To this day we have younger folks who feel that riding dirt bikes, atv's and even the occasional car or truck upon it is perfectly acceptable conduct. Only a well placed tree or washout can stop the folks who try to drive upon it. The museum might encounter the same sort of mindset from members of the younger (and perhaps some of the not so young) generation once the access to 218 becomes more easily traversed.

Mike, I must say that you do not mess around when you set to work on a project. Great job! Wish I could be there to help.

Great interview Dave. You really gave the museum and all the folks who both attend activities as well as participate in those activities a great pat on the back. Again, wonderful interview.
