Museum Discussion / Future Replica Rolling Stock Ideas
« on: June 12, 2012, 05:32:25 PM »
I knew there are really old topics in this forum that mention a few ideas. After watching the Reefer Car #65 project, It reminded me of these old topics like building a replica WW&F combine or baggage car for Wheelchair acess, a replica 2 foot tank car, and a few other things that I cant remember right now that I know was talked about here awhile ago. Are these ideas still on the long term plan table when the right amount of money comes into play?  ???  :)

I see well I thought that if the museum was to go further past Highway 218 to Head Tide since looks like a good reasonable location to stop the rebuilding of the ROW once finish the rebuilding the ROW from the Top Of The Mountain to Highway 218. With the amount of equipment we have now, that would look like a good place to stop the progress north with like you said the right amount of money and volunteers.

63
Pardon me to ask this but I cant find the topic about this but does the museum long range plan on crossing Highway 218 and continue rebuilding the ROW until it reachs Head Tide? It seams like a possible objective in the long run with the right amount of money needed?

Will #65 make a comback again next year to do this event all over again or was this a one time only event to never be repeated?

Pardon me I know this topic is old but had the museum purchased this boxcar from its location or is it still sitting there after the brush was cleared away?

Thats strange. I mean its a shame that they dont use the website to keep us updated that much anymore. I hope somebody here will give us some answers  ???  :(

67
Ive seen no new updates from the museums website except for operating time days. Anything new going on there like restoration, maintance, or anything? Anybody here have any updates?  ???

So is MNGM planing on moving to a new site this year or is this a future plan to move out of Portland. I read the president's message and I do look forward to the new site alittle bit because it has the room to build protective roofs or sheds over the equipment to keep it out of the elements.

Plus how long if anyone knows the ROW will be at this new location.

Hey Matthew,

At least you're out earning some $$$ that could help with your modeling projects.  Nothin' wrong with that!

Oh okay, but will she be displayed in operating condition or is no longer keep in operating condition? Plus which area in the museum will she be displayed at when she is moved out of the engine house. I love #7 & #8 and I would love to see them both run together one day.
