The more I hear groups tell me they need to stay Apolitical and discussion of political topics need be avoided, I merely wish to point out having ones head in the sand will not prevent those of the persuasion that your hobby, museum, industry, Etc is detrimental to their cause & will work diligently to end your organization through politics said group so diligently avoided. Heritage groups in the UK waited until the number of coal sources could be counted on hands before thinking they should stop being apolitical and attempt to beg people of differing political persuasion on environmental issues to please show mercy.....

I recall years ago on a excursion over Laveta Pass eavesdropping on a father intently explaining to his son that the hand brake wheel on the open car we were riding was used to drop the emergency anchor which would catch the ties to stop the train. I made no attempt at correction.

That is a big flat spot, operators have a habit of sliding the lightrail equipment I work on but I haven't seen a spot that big on a car yet where I work.

Out of curiosity what is the time frame for reestablishing a connection to the turntable?  Will it be severed for the duration of construction or as short as possible?

Besides the above mentioned #3, what’s locomotive #6? Also who is # 10 leased from. We all know the answers. It is a good article otherwise!

Have to agree with mike, side walks, paving stones and wooden walkways should only ever be installed after all heavy construction work is completed on a project/area for the foreseeable future. Motor vehicles can do alot of damage to concrete sidewalks if they are not designed for vehicle traffic which increases cost.

Here is a interesting locomotive that has come up for sale on sterling rail, long ways away and quite expensive but fun to think about.

If you are referring to the height they drive them in to a point at which they are taller than the final height of the cap beam, then cut the piles down to the final height.

The imagery date for google earth is 9/5/2015.

People think that the goal is to rebuild the WW&F, but in reality everyone simply wants to revive the stub switch.  ::)
