General Discussion / Private owner 2 footer
« on: December 03, 2021, 05:11:25 PM »
I was just watching the latest Keith Rucker on Youtube and he was machining a steam valve for a 2 foot gauge locomotive.  He stated the owner had bought it as running gear from an estate sale in Maine about 10 years ago and had acquired a Porter boiler for it.  Anyone know anything about this locomotive?

Is there a list somewhere of how many pieces of rolling stock were brought to Edaville?

Work and Events / Victorian Christmas 2017
« on: October 21, 2017, 08:38:09 PM »
I'm hoping to make my first visit to the museum for Victorian Christmas.  Are there any cost effective hotels in the area?   Would be 2 couples.  Anything going on at the museum Friday afternoon or Sunday morning?   Would like to make a weekend of it.
 Thanks

General Discussion / Adlake Lantern
« on: December 03, 2016, 10:34:05 AM »
I have 2 Adlake lanterns with the #300 fonts in them.   They are both filled with a wick and some type of cotten material.  Do I just add fuel to them or do I need to remove the filling first??

Is there a list available of the numbers of various cars that the original railroad had?

Museum Discussion / ROW
« on: October 08, 2015, 09:16:06 AM »
I'm not sure if this question can be answered easily or not but here goes.
Was recently reading one of my Narrow Gauge in the Sheepscot Valley in the Head Tide section.   I know the Museum owns ROW in the area but is it just the mainline or is the depot site included in that.  As far as other sections as well, is it strictly the roadbed or does the museum own additional land along the ROW?
  Thanks

Museum Discussion / Parts
« on: March 24, 2015, 09:54:26 AM »
I had been going through older posts here, especially the Dairy Car thread.   A question came to me.   I know the museum can build rolling stock pretty well.  The wood and fasteners aren't really a problem from what I see.   Truck frames can be fabricated.  Where does the museum get wheel sets and couplers?   I know there was some existing from the original railway but where would we source more?
