I don’t seem to be getting e-mail notifications.
Could somebody reply to this to test if it is working?

« on: October 09, 2017, 07:49:03 AM »
Saturday I got to run my really narrow narrow gauge steam locomotive.
It is 3 - 1/2” gauge and runs at 100 psi.

General Discussion / Time Displayed

I notice that the time shown in the upper right hand corner still displays daylight saving time. Does the list preferences not account for automatically changing to standard time?

General Discussion / Wow......Color!

I just received the latest newsletter and was surprised and pleased to see the front and rear covers "in living color!"
And beautiful photos they are as well.
However I am curious as to the caption on the rear cover....to me it looks like a northbound movement.

General Discussion / Reproduction Builder/Number Plates - Materials, etc.
« on: November 14, 2014, 02:49:07 PM »
When they are cast, you should have extras made in aluminum to sell in the gift shop.  Again, super work coming out of Texas.

Bernie

Why aluminum? Bronze foundries are numerous and the plates would look better. Just be sure to clearly and permanently mark them as reproductions.

General Discussion / Downeast Scenic 1055
« on: September 03, 2013, 10:30:54 AM »
Downeast Scenic was my destination this morning. Interesting. And I got to ride behind one of my favorite locomotives. Nothing beats the sound of an Alco Diesel, other than steam.

Mike....are those trucks under the Alco original? I wasn't aware of Alco using Blomberg trucks as they were made by EMD. The ALCO switchers I ran all had Blunt trucks.

Here is a video that should be an inspiration to all narrow gauge track departments.

I wasn't able to attend the picnic this year as we were down in Massachusetts at a meet of the Pioneer Valley Live Steamers.
Here is a link to a YouTube video showing several of my friends running my really narrow gauge ( 3 - 1/2" gauge) London and Northeastern Railways Atlantic.

General Discussion / CNJ 113 runs!
« on: November 24, 2012, 02:01:22 PM »
The CNJ 113 ran recently on its test runs.
In the video you can see WW&F member and pattern maker Bernie Perch in the gang way.
This group can be really proud of the astounding work they have done bring back a derelict.

Whimsical Weirdness and Foolery / Tin Man

In another thread James wrote
"* Car 65: Got to get the Grace Ice & Watershield on the roof if it hasn't happened already, so that the tin man can tin the roof."

I wonder if we can't get the tin man, maybe we could arrange to have the cowardly lion or scare crow in to do the job? :)
