Bridgton & Saco River Railway / Bridgton Yard
« on: February 28, 2012, 04:19:54 PM »
Hi All,

Does anyone have a good idea of how the Bridgton Yard was laid out circa 1930-1940?  I have been doing some research and only found a photograph of the yard throat. I watched Guss Prats Riding the Maine Two Footers and got a few good views of the roundhouse area.  Any images (or maps  :P) would be very helpful!

Thank you,

Maine Narrow Gauge RR Co. & Museum / Track Work at MNG
« on: June 07, 2010, 12:17:25 PM »
Hi everyone,

I thought I would post this here in case anyone is interested.  There is going to be a track work day on Sunday the 13th, starting between 8:30 and 9:00.  Work includes tie replacement, leveling and tamping, and bolt tightening.

Bringing a lunch is suggested, but there are sandwich and sub shops nearby.

looks like a railroad in california took Frank Winter's idea of no maintenance one step further.

Take a look...  http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_TotIBS8fTQ

Should get a laugh out of it at least....

Museum Discussion / Two foot Tapes
« on: January 09, 2009, 03:54:49 PM »
There have been many mentionings of good two foot tapes arround this forum and I hadan Idea:  How do people feel about a two foot movie night at sheepscot?  perhaps one night after working on the track during the spring meet we can all crowd around a screen and watch movies for a while.  Everyone can bring thier favorite fliks and whatever's needed to play it and the museam could provide the screen.  What does the populace think?

hi all,

I am just wondering if anyone can let me know when the cutting will start and what we do with the felled wood.

Thanks
