Museum Discussion / Howe truss bridge
« on: April 03, 2020, 05:28:52 PM »
just read an old, (2003), Frommer's travel guide for N.H. that mentions Clark's Trading Post. The entry says that they, (Clark's), claim to have the last Howe Truss railroad bridge in the world. Any further input appreciated.
(maybe this belongs under a past subject: our own Howe bridge)

I'm looking for info on the flags used by the railway.
What are the dimensions and what size staff are they on.

Museum Discussion / screw jack
« on: September 10, 2015, 10:38:25 PM »
Don't know if this goes here, but I wanted to let someone know; I dropped off a jack, late Thurs., around 7:30p in front of the freight house. It's up against the door in double bags.
Finally got up that way after posting about it quite a while ago. Hope it's of use.

Museum Discussion / stuff for the rr
« on: October 30, 2014, 12:45:05 AM »
Hi, now that it's getting colder, I hope you've found good use of the large Reddy heater I dropped off a couple years ago.
I came across a Hobbs  screwjack, 1 1/2x10. Reseach on line tells me it's rated for 12 ton and the company existed from around 1915 to 1945. So it would fit the rr time period just right. If you can use it, I'll get it to you.
