I actually grew up near the Eclipse factory.  They made different flavors but coffee was the biggest seller.

Steve, after more than 30 years in the Fire Service all I can say is that jabs are a good thing.  I know it sounds odd but sometimes thats their way of complimenting.  I think the tract material storage areas are a great idea.

General Discussion / Private owner 2 footer

I was just watching the latest Keith Rucker on Youtube and he was machining a steam valve for a 2 foot gauge locomotive.  He stated the owner had bought it as running gear from an estate sale in Maine about 10 years ago and had acquired a Porter boiler for it.  Anyone know anything about this locomotive?

has any thought been given to moving 309s sheathing from the shop to the display area in the car barn?   Might protect it from possible damage....

Have you looked into Jamaica Cottage Shop in Vermont?   They offer precut ready to assemble or prebuilt structures and I believe free delivery in New England.

Any word on lodging in the area being affected by Covid?   I know Wiscasett Woods lodge isn't opening to the public this year.

Are there any affordable motels open near the museum this time of year?

After reading Dana's post I figured I'd chime in.   I'v been a member for a while now and have visited the museum a few times as a "tourist".    After speaking with Steve P at Springfield a couple years ago I decided to attend a work weekend.  My friend came along.  Neither of us had ever done anything like laying track before.  The people were friendly and didn't mind showing us how to do the tasks.  The work was hard at times but it was actually fun with everyone giving moral support.  We're so glad we came up for the weekend I think we'll be up again to see what else we can learn how to do.   Thanks to everyone that made it a great first experience!!!!

PS  Never attended any work project where the food was restaurant quality......LOL
