I had all I could do to keep up with the dull chains from cutting ties!
We're down to the ties that were used as a road behind the new platform. They are coated with mud and clay.
It doesn't take long for the chains to get dull.
Hopefully we will get some better and good ties in the near future.

Glad to hear it ran well. The only thing I didn't check is if the auger belt needs adjusting. There was no snow when I serviced it so I couldn't test how far it blows snow.
I think it will be ok.

I serviced the snow blower a while ago so it should be all set if it is needed.

Once the trees are dropped the wind won't be an issue.
I say we stick with the plan if we can. We can cut between gusts!!
Maybe the wind direction will be in our favor.
But... safety comes first.

I will be there in the morning and will help wherever needed.
My hope was to continue the necessary trimming at Head Tide and along the ROW.
But you can put me to work where needed the most.

Any and all help would be appreciated. It is weather dependent, right now heavy rains & thunderstorms are predicted for Saturday morning. I plan to trim on Tuesdays too. But this heat is making it hard to put in a full day.

Any and all help would be greatly appreciated to finish clearing the ROW at Head Tide to Trout Brook.
We have four blade trimmers, two chainsaws and many hand trimmers as well.
It is a beautiful spot and also part of the railroad's continuing commitment to the public.
Hopefully after this week of the 4th we can get a crew together to do the necessary and neglected maintenance.

Very exciting news!
With all of the new rolling stock coming in it may be a good idea to reconstruct the woods track. Space is already tight now.

My experience as a printer all my life is that if you order 200 for the first printing it would likely be less than ordering a reprint. 
Something to look in to.

It sure looks much different now.
I do hope that someone took some before and after pictures of what we accomplished.
A lot got done as usual and the food and weather were both awesome for the 4th year in a row!

It is always a fun and productive day. And yes, we have been very lucky with good weather the last three years.
Any chance Sharon could arrange a trip on the line for us all? Maybe during lunchtime.

All four blade trimmers have been repaired, sharpened and tested in case anyone wants to do some trimming.
The older gray trimmer runs well but the stop switch does not work so it needs to be choked to turn off.
Remember, the trimmers use 50:1 mixed gas. The containers are clearly labeled.
