Hi,
I heard today on the radio that Reed & Reed Inc of Woolwich, got a $12 million dollar contract for some rehab at the Portsmouth Naval Shipyard. As part of the rehab work they are going to be removing old rail out of the yard. It said there was over 1000 feet of track to be removed. Maybe they could be convinced that it would be a good thing to donate it to the WW&F.  :o

Hi,
Another possibility is lock rings. It is a flat washer that has tabs that you bend up withe screwdriver. I used them when I worked at Electric Boat building submarines. They hold through just about any vibrations.

Hi,
I was at an auction on Wednesday and bought a TCS 8 quart milk can . It is marked TURNER CENTRE REGISTERED. It also has 2 brass tags, one with fill to here info and one with the TCS logo.  It is in pretty good condition except for a few holes in the bottom. I will bring it over when I get a chance.

Is there a list of farms that shipped on the railroad? How were the cans that survive marked? I often run into milk cans at auctions and the flea market.

Hi,
I had the same problem with no picture on Firefox. I downloaded Adobe Flash Player 11.1.102.55. Now it works fine.

Hi,
So, has anyone found any good pieces to recycle? If anyone needs a label to mail in their recyclables, you can send me an email at ecycling@wwfry.org with your address to send it to.

James,
Can you make this a sticky post at the top of the page?

I was looking around at work and found that it looks like a couple of the printers/copiers are on the list. I need to find out who changes the cartridges and see if they'll let me know when they change one. If anyone else has printers at work etc that are on the list, see if you can get them if they just throw them away.

Hi,
I am working on getting our ecycling program, with Think Recycle, up and running. Here is a link to the list of items that they accept. http://www.thinkrecycle.com/rebatelistfull.asp It looks like their preferred method to do this is to collect at least 7 to 10 items and ship them as a group in a box. The most economical way, for the people that come to the museum regularly, is to save your items until the next time you are here. For those of you from away who are unable to make it regularly, the best way would be to save up until you have a few items, then request a shipping label. I will send one of the prepaid labels, that they provide, out to you. I am still working out the details and the best way to accomplish this in the most profitable way for the museum. Support the museum and the environment with ecycling.

James,
I would be willing to mail out the labels for the electronics recycling. Are the labels at the railroad currently? I've been thinking about coming next weekend. I could pick them up then.

Hi,
Hodgdon's models will be at the Amherst train show. They are located in the Better Living Center Tables 7-D&E. Stop by and take a look at their kits. I believe they have several Maine 2 Footer building model kits.
