Last trip of the day was a freight train with a couple of planned photo run-bys at Humason Trestle and Cockeye Curve. The trip lasted about an hour, with 13 of us riding along in the caboose. THANKS to the crew, Patrick, Brian, Joe, Dana and Jason, for making this happen!

Thanks for the news and the great photo Steve. I see the snow is gone too.

Hey Steve,
Great photo. Love the way the smoke turned out. Looks like that is from the second run by. Do you think you, or maybe somebody else can post the two photos that we tried recreating yesterday, with Dana, Brian, and myself, and the other photo with Dana, and me holding the oil can. Talk to you later.

Yes, a great photo. It replaced the December Victorian Christmas photo as my screen saver.
-
Here you go, Joe... thanks guys.

Gorgeous!
Can anyone post the original for comparison?
Is it in the Moody book?

OK. Here are a few of mine. I have video that I need to view/edit and plan on posting to You Tube if I get it right. I'll post a link.

OK. I'll post some links. They might not work right away so check back a little later if they don't. BEWARE!!! I forgot my tripod so have your motion sickness meds handy. I do not have a steady hand with a small camera.

Those look great on my monitor, Mike, nice work!

Wow. Thanks for the second pic Steve. I am looking through all mine and my dads W, W, & F books to find the original pictures that we tried recreating. I will keep you guys posted on how the search goes.

No Steve, Thank you for taking the time to organize this.
-
Joe, this is the one I had in mind when we were shooting the crew shots. Pete is this what you were thinking of? Needing more "reenactors" comes to mind, but doesn't this give a better idea of the scale of our future No 11...versus No 10?! Going to need a bigger machine shop...

Very nice, Gentlemen.
Steve, I think that people were smaller back in the day.. ;)
-
Ahh, yes! Quite the likeness, in spirit at least. ;)
Perhaps I should bring my Navy peacoat and my Civil War kepie with me to the work weekend.
-
Here's the photo I was thinking of:

Thanks for posting that, Dana...I hadn't seen that one. Here's the 2-shot we did with you and "Smokey Joe" ;)

Got to view the video today. NICE..........
Just one observation, it appears that as the train is hitting the reverse of the curve that the cross-level is towards the outside of the curve. Do my eyes decieve me or is it just the camera angle?
-
Camera angle. The Rock I had planted my camera on sloped toward the hill and I just went with it rather than shim it. Definately could have used a tripod like I said.
