We are acquiring several new, to us, high lift aluminum track jacks. This is an effort to reduce or eliminate the steel "back breakers. They will be here this fall. Donations accepted. (Note: A visit to the Chiropractor is about the same cost as a used track jack, if you wish to donate to the "jack fund").

My check is in the mail. I got really tired of lugging those "iron maidens" last fall. Enough is enough!
Glad to see the board is back. I was going into withdrawl!
Cheers -- Wayne

How does one donate to the Jack Fund?
-
Just send a check or Paypal to the museum and footnote it "track jacks"

Looking for a specific type of Jack? I think the aluminum Duff Brand Jack will work best for our application. We have some like that already and are easy to use.
Mike.
PS. Here comes my donation

Duff Alum Track Jacks are no longer manufactered. Museum has a small Duff jack that is missing the Pawl spring. Mfg. don't have replacement springs. I got a replacement from Simplex. But that spring is to small (wide) to fit.

The "preowned" jacks we are aquiring are all Duff-Norton Aluminum, high lift, jacks.

Maybe we can sell the back breakers to BIW to use as anchors for the DDG Destroyers.

The price of scrap steel is up. Might be worth something.

Add one more high lift jack to the inventory. Wayne Laepple and I purchased one in PA. He drove over and picked it up and will bring it for the Fall work weekend.
Also on the jack side of things, I will be at least lettering and possibly numbering the current inventory of Aluminum Jacks. This will help with identification, should some be loaned out to any other organization.
