Taken almost 10 years apart, "Dashing" Dana Deering hotshots a photo consist through Alna center.

I think Dana would have been right at home on the B&SR or the WW&F back in the day. I remember a few years back when Dana was an engineer on an early, damp Saturday morning. A small ground crew asked him to stop at Alna Center on the up grade northbound so we could prepare for the events that day. We gave him a standing ovation by the Averill Road crossing when he started the train without a wheel slip.
