Title: mystery baggage car at Edaville
Post by: Anthony Vo on October 18, 2019, 12:11:17 PM
I've only been to Edaville 2 times. During those two times, I recall a baggage car decked out with Christmas treats and whatnot. I don't recall any of the Maine two footers having an if any, baggage car, beside the Edaville, considering these screenshots I took from a video filmed in 2015.

I have seen it when I have been there but never had much knowledge on it and unfortunately haven't gotten any pictures or photos, considering it has no signs of lettering or numbers, just the standard Edaville paint scheme. Anyone happen to know what two-footer it is from, what number it or if Edaville RR just built the car from scratch.

There were several baggage cars on at least 3 of the Maine Two Footers. None of the WW&F equipment, other than coach 3, ever made it to Edaville. The Bridgton Combine is currently in Boothbay, leaving any potential car being fron The Sandy River RR. So, it could be a replicated car.

None of the SR&RL baggage or RPO cars made it into preservation at Edaville or elsewhere. I suspect this either a standard gauge car or a replica.

y'all actually could be right. I did a bit of searching earlier after I posted this and found no evidence of a baggage car

This car is standard gauge. It was brought to Edaville when a florist had a rose garden there at one time. It was supposed to be one of the attractions. It didn't work out and now Edaville uses it for storage I believe.

I've always presumed it was narrow gauge

It looks like a standard gauge baggage car with no wheels
