Hey everyone,
Since Albion Day has been canceled and there is interest in a work day still here is my plan for 11/3. I hope to be there, but am doubtfull. I know it is also the day for the Topsham Train Show, but I hope we can arrange the following.
I want to jack and tamp the last remaining stretch of Davis Grade. Line it if we have crew. (Could Come-A-Long the worst spots if needed) Ballast as needed behind the tamping crew.
If crew and myself are available, I would like to have 4 of us finish Cockeyed Curve as well.
If you are able to attend please let me know so I can make final arrangements and get things ready. Ideal crew size is 8-10 people.

Bill do you feel like running the tamper? I hope to be there till 1-1:30 that day work depending.
-
Yes, if it is OK with Jason. I know he just went through some training/review with Dave, I believe in terms of the tamper being treated as a railcar.
-
This is a simplification but I think the issue is that rail cars are not to be used as work trains~towing loads, etc.
-
Bill (Reidy), you’re fine running the tamper. I did a little retroactive track car qualification with Dave. I’ll send you an email to be sure we’re in the same page but I believe we’ve had this discussion a few times.
Bill B, others, the gist is that the tamper is a designated track car, for which there is a specific rule in the rule book. Remember the rule book is a reference book! Track cars do require specific training and a qualification endorsement for each specific track car- the training addresses the mechanical specifics of that piece of equipment and the rule requirements of all track cars.
See ya
Jason

Thanks Jason.

Thanks also Jason.

I plan on being there also.

I'm negotiating my presence. Looks likely, but no promises yet.
-
Hopefully we can try to hammer out as much as we can. Snowed today, so it is gettig closer all the time which means our track work days are growing extremely short and it wont be long before frost and or snow set in.
-
Tomorrow planned work may get slowed down slightly by the rain, please dress accordingly. I hope to get as much as work done as we can.

I like that. See you tomorrow.
I'll try to remember to pack my Spot Board.
