Our neighbor Brian Fanslau has loaned the railway his open excursion car. The car is not an old Edaville car it was constucted new by Brian.

Very nicely done. Is that Pullman Green for the exterior color?

I gotta ask -- where is all this additional rolling stock going to live? What is going to spend the winter outdoors? We've lost two car spaces in the shop, and we've added a flanger, a couple of derelict boxcars, and an open car, with a flatcar still to come. No matter how I figure it, some rolling stock will get snowed on.

Brian’s open car, open 103, box 56, and the flats will remain outside. Brian’s caboose may go outside should the need arise. 10 may move back to bay 1 as there’s been some interest in cleaning the running gear and addressing a few concerns there.
We plan to insulate the shop and provide a heating source, at which time we’ll resume on 10’s boiler. We also want to establish the coach project and make steady progress on the consecutive “freight” car projects (flanger included). Plainly there is crew overlap, but we are working on arranging a manager for each project, each of whom can rally troops to their cause as needed. Also- the timeline on these projects isn’t set- with the worthy notation that we do want to get moving on long running projects such as 10’s boiler, 67, the new coach and loco 11.

I’ve been meaning to remark that the Mountain Extension is literally a world class ride, and I foresee the need for more excursion cars to maximize passenger enjoyment.
P.S. As an occasional conductor, I love the seating arrangement - far superior to 103.

Speaking of winter projects, we need to protect 15 good full size ties from the rath of Fred and his saw to repair a pressing issue in the next few weeks.
(I have returned from my trip and am ready to go full bore as long as possible into track projects. Winter is rapidly approaching and our abilities will be reduced in a few short weeks.)

I don't think Fred will be cutting the 2 truckloads that arrived recently that fast.

Appears to be the same car that Boothbay has been using the past few years.
