Title: Pay Check
Post by: John Scott on July 18, 2018, 07:44:08 AM
I have come across an employee pay check from 1929. The name of the employee appears to me to have been E A Brown - but it is hard to be sure because the handwriting is difficult to decipher. Does anyone have information about that employee?

It may have been made to E. A. Braun when looking at the front of the check.

Indeed, yes - the writing is very difficult. Does anyone know of such an employee - where he (or she) was stationed, what they did?

Looks like Brown to me. I suspect the dot on the front is not part of the name.

This check was issued before the stock market crash and paid out afterwards. I wonder how concerned the employee was that the money wouldn't be there when they went to cash it.

Way cool, Steve P, to notice that¡ If the Board decides it wants a staff detective, you'll be a shoe-in.
