My sister and I were poking around the ROW up in Dallas and I came across this.

Looks like a rivet.

It's a track bolt. You can see the threads on the end, and it's oval in cross section just below the head (similar to a carriage bolt, but different) to fit in the oval holes in the joint bars so it doesn't turn when it's being tightened. I have one just like that I picked up on Sluice Hill a couple of years ago.
