My brother the machinist found this on a forum that he frequents and was asking about it.

I had no idea what this was (or where this topic should start), so I figured here was a good place.

That is a Watson Stillman crank pin press. Actually that particular one is in our shop in Sheepscot- as that's where that photo was taken (I recognize the grey painted band saw frame behind it).
It's good for 60 tons and, by happy coincidence, is perfectly arranged and sized to mount 20" wheels on two foot gauge axles. That's our intent.
Kind of fun that it's picked up a little following!
See ya

A bit of Google searching reveals http://www.farmingtonmfg.com/WATSON_STILLMAN.html (http://www.farmingtonmfg.com/WATSON_STILLMAN.html). Enjoy!

p.s. Their telephone number lists as Henderson, NV.

Yep, the image came from a forum entry at the practical machinist website about the WW&F.
Definitely great to see when the museum can be interesting not just for the trains, but for a bunch of the great tools that seem to be assembling there.
Thank you much.

How about a link to your brother's machinist forum entry?

Just for clarification, he frequents the page, but I don't think he's a regular poster.
