Here is a photo of a two-foot gauge sugar mill railway in Queensland, Australian, taken during the recent harvest. Some of these sugar haulers feature double track with signaling, remote control mid-train units and remote control braking units. The cars are little more than baskets on wheels to hold sugar cane, and are unloaded by rotary dumpers at the mill.

That is quite cool! I'm pretty sure sugar cane wouldn't grow in Maine. Maybe maple syrup trains?

Queensland's on my bucket list (as part of the "Australia" bucket). However given the expense to get there it's a great long ways down the list.
