LINING BARS

If any volunteers coming in for Saturday’s work have access to railroad lining bars that they can borrow, please bring them.  We have 21- but hope for a total of 30-40 to feed to separate lining crews on Saturday.  If you do bring them- please be sure to give them a paint ID so you can properly recover them.

Also, those coming on Saturday should drive to and park at Alna Center.
The approximate address is: 1620 Alna Rd, Alna

Saturday After-work schedule:
4:00pm - Work concludes at Alna Center. Volunteers drive back to Sheepscot to socialize, visit the gift shop, train sale, clean up, etc.
5:15pm - Percival Award Ceremony (and other festivities celebrating 25 years of FWW.)
5:30pm - Dinner is Served.
6:15pm - "Inspection Trip" to TBS - for all volunteers.
(subject to change, of course.)

On Friday, Sunday, and Monday, all work crews will be based out of Sheepscot.

Where do volunteers sign in on Saturday morning?  Will the book be at the Percival House or at AC?

Good point. The book will be at the Percival House. So to be sure sign in/out at some point during the day.

We also expect most folks to not get the message to head to AC. John McNamara has volunteered to help direct traffic and parking at Sheepscot (he need help, too!)

It's often been suggested that I "need help," generally by medical personnel. Seriously though, I don't walk very well and any able-bodied help would be appreciated. It would be great if our parking was as smooth as that at the "Springfield Show."

There will be a special check in sheet posted next to the sign-in book in the Percival House.  Members who have volunteered for 5 to 15 years are listed.  If you plan on being at the SATURDAY EVENING SUPPER please put a check mark in the box next to your name.

This will be a big help in planning the 25th Anniversary commemoration on Saturday.

 Hi! I wish you guys a  good FWW. You're lucky because according to the NWS the weather will be mostly sunny and mild a perfect temp to work on the track or on the roundhouse; I'm sure, by the end of that long weekend all the planned works will have been completed in a nice friendly atmosphere like before the pandemic. I'm looking forward for pics and comments on this forum and on Fb.

Work Report - FWW Day 1:
- Enginehouse: Work on roof, trim boards, and windows.
- Build 11: Riveting of rear frame. Shop prep (new cylinder castings placed in shop, defective ones removed.) 
- Tech: Remote temp sensors installed in water tank building and on tank.
- Track: Albee's crossing replaced; Other work accomplished (maybe someone who was present can comment.)
- Electric: Wiring begun for new electrical panel, etc.
- Switch at ToM repaired.
- Coach 3 brakes adjusted.
- Gift shop sales
- Train Sale
- Food: Hamburgers and Sandwiches for Lunch; Spaghetti and Meatballs for dinner.

REMINDER FOR PARKING TOMORROW 10/8 ONLY:
- Track Crew: Please Park at Alna Center (check in at SS, then head to AC.)
- General Volunteers: Please park either in the corner lot (218/Cross Road) if able-bodied, otherwise please favor parking in the west/upper lot.

A few photos from FWW day 1.

In the afternoon, Dana's crew focused on correcting bent rails and lining between MP6 and Trask's crossing.  Here Dana is positioning the rail bender.


After a bent rail was corrected, the rail needed to be respiked.


At Sheepscot, Josh Recave led a crew installing underground conduit between the utility pole and the outside electrical panel.  Progress so far as seen at lunchtime.


The build 11 crew has been busy this week riveting No. 11's rear frame.  The view seen at lunchtime.
