I know this is an old post, but it was my grandfather Tony Citro who owned 565 and had it displayed at his restaurant for awhile. He was also the owner of the morris county RR for a time, and his other engine is in whippany nj.

I recently had the chance to visit 565 at steamtown and brought along pictures, post cards, and brochures that I’ve found relating to Citro’s 1900 and 565. The people there were great, and it was fantastic to see the locomotive again. Good memories. I’m glad to think that my grandfather had a small part in preserving this piece of history.

From what I was told, 565 will never run again, but the goal is still cosmetic “rolling” restoration. Hopefully they’ll get her done and I’m glad she’s home where she belongs.

Feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

folks,
I remember back when a cosmetic restoration of the #565 was under way in the past; but the Steamtown Management shut it down. I am
very pleased to see that it is under way again. I am sure my friend the late Gordon Chappell would be pleased. He wrote a book on the Steamtown
Collection at Scranton. Ted Miles who likes steam locomotives and trains.
