Sandy River Work Day, September 6, 2025
« on: August 25, 2025, 11:30:26 AM »
September 6th is the chosen day for us to offer some assistance to the SR&RL Museum in Phillips this year. Sharon has a variety of projects that could be worked on, including more track work on the loading spur by the station, tie replacement on the main line or building stabalization. A rough idea of how many plan to attend would help them plan their lunch, so if you could respond here that would be appreciated.

We had a very good day. Four of us from the WW&F assisted several members of the SR&RL work on their ramp track. This is the same track that we started work on 2 years ago with Fred encouraging us along. The ramp portion is now spiked and mostly lined. Sharon is very pleased. From the WW&F it was myself, Luke B, Daniel Mo., and Fred C. The Sandy River volunteers included Sharon B., Guy R, and Leza G., who also provided a great lunch, with other volunteers Charlie K, Rick B., Emmet L., Jeb B., John S. and some youngsters that helped a little were Sophia (Jebs daughter) Emmaline and Callum B. (Jebs neice and nephew). We got rained on a couple times but it was short the first time and quitting time the last..

9am, we had been briefed by Sharon about the days plan. Always having plenty to do, we had to focus on the one thing Sharon said she wanted done..the tail of the ramp track.

About an hour after the first photo, this photo shows the ramp track work is progressing.

Break time (rain...)
