Anticipated work for Saturday July 5:

* First day of public Lavender trains.  These have been quite popular in the past, let's hope this year proves the same way.
* Grounds work
* Archives - probable move of another set of boxes to offsite.
* Enginehouse
* Machine shop

Yes, I started moving it pre 53. A few years passed without progress due to varying reasons, but now a hard push is being made to add trackage for storage expansion. The original 32lb trackage will be disconnected leaving the MNG plow and flanger isolated from the active track, with the thought of adding a switch in the future.

Work done on Saturday July 12:

* Track work - Dan and crew were spiking the switch into the engine house bay 1.  It had been safety spiked years ago but no more than that.  And Mike worked on extending the track behind the fuel shed.
* Engine House - Stewart, Brendan, and new volunteer Glenn were working on the interior.
* Public trains for Lavender at SeaLyon Farm.
* Archives
* Board meeting

Work done on Saturday July 19:

* Archives - Bruce, Linda, Christopher, and I moved some boxes from the upstairs archives to offsite storage.
* Grounds - Mike and a crew finished the track behind the fuel shed and moved the B&SR equipment up.  Then Mike started working on the grade for the actual Woods track.
* Public trains to SeaLyon for Lavender - sold out.  Also a Bob Longo memorial train this evening.
* Engine house - Stewart was painting trim, Brendan was starting to extend the metal ceiling in Bay 3.

On addition to what James has reported, Dana was working on identifying photos in the lower archives, Zack was giving tours in the Car Shop, and Marcel was checking model kits and pricing them. Kitchen crew did another great job at getting out a nice lunch.

Wanted: Copies of correspondence and photographs from "first generation narrow gage railfans" such as Linwood Moody, Dick Andrews, Lawrence Brown, Ellis Atwood, H.T. Crittenden and others. Interested in all two foot (U.S.) rail operations, common carrier, industrial/mill and park/museum.

Just to jump in here, for the Lavender trains this Saturday I had the pleasure of being station agent at TOM. I used some of the downtime (of which there was plenty) to sweep and tidy up the station house.

did on the TOM telephone.  Thanks! You had me mystified when you mentioned the TOM “station” but I guess that’s what that building is.😀

John…technically a “station” is not a building. The usual accepted definition of a station is any location listed in the employee timetable by name.

* Final Lavender public trains - with ML&M #11 making a special appearance to run second class trains.
* Grounds - work on prepping for the Woods track
* Archives - there could be another moving of stuff to offsite storage, and Marcel will probably be sorting through model railroad acquisitions.

Today repairs to the seat mounts on 51 & 52 were completed. The hinge plates were replaced. The broken back on 52’s engineers side was also repaired. The seats now won’t inadvertently tip forward. To access the battery box remove the safety clips. Please don’t forget to reinstall them.

I see that it just fits on the Trout Brook turntable. How's running it compare to running number 9?
