2025 Rules Class and Volunteer Recruitment
« on: March 18, 2025, 07:12:14 PM »
It's spring, which means it's time for a review of the rules! This year I'm reversing the sequence of things to ensure engineers and conductors truly have time to review rules and practices together. The day ends with scheduled time to complete tests.

April 5th at Sheepscot Station.
Volunteer Recruitment Event Concurrent with morning sessions

8:30 - 9:30
Conductor session - Open to all active and aspiring conductors

9:45 - 10:45
Engineer session - Open to all active and aspiring engineers

11:00 - 12:00
Brakeman session - for all active and aspiring crew members.  Engineers especially encouraged to attend to share your perspective.

12:00-12:30 Lunch

12:30 - 1:45
Basic Safety session - for all, including new recruits

2:00 - 3:00
Testing session - take the test sections appropriate to your qualification level and be done!

Questions? Ideas? Ask/share them here or email the Training Officer: training.officer@wwfry.org

Hi All,

I just wanted to provide some additional clarification about times and elements of this Saturday's volunteer recruitment event and how it ties in with the rules review and tests:

- 10:00 - 12:00 Tours & General Information
- 12:00-12:30 Lunch
- 12:30-1:45 Joint Safety Class (for all volunteers and new recruits)
- 2:00-3:00 Q&A, tours, try to get people plugged in to projects/make connections with project leaders/department heads.

Let me know if there is anything forgotten in these details or anything that needs to be added!

Best,
Steve

I hope I can pull that off. A recording at least should be possible.

Thanks Pete, a recording would be great. That’s how I renew my FAA Flight Instructors Certification every two years.

I will try to set up a livestream at the usual WW&F meeting link: https://wwfry.org/meeting

Note: I will be generally occupied with the Volunteer Recruitment activities (except during the Safety session at 12:30pm) so there may be a delay in admission to the online meeting, if it is even possible to stream it reliably. We'll see...
