Great! Thanks to whoever did it, and thanks for telling me about it. I was afraid that someone (two-legged or four-legged) would trip over it.

Also on Sunday, October 25th -

The rest of the collapsed wood pile near the oil house was cleaned up and some was loaded into the wood shed. (The woodshed is full now).  The remaining wood was loaded into the Model AA flatbed truck and parked in the garage.  The wood can dry out inside and will be available for firing engines in January.

Now a MOW tool car would be wonderful.  A place for all our hand tools to be hung, shelves for jacks, various bins for spare parts, floor space for buckets of spikes, bolts, and nuts would be ideal.  Mobile and can be brought directly to jobsite.  Don't forget small generator and electric lines.  I know some MOW guys who will be doing a happy dance over this one, including myself.

We have got a MOW car in years at AMTP. Very practical and plus it contains all the needed tools  in case of derailment. But it's always such a mess inside because it's packed with quite a lot of various and sundry things  nobody takes time to put away properly after using them. Obviously, it wont go that way at WW&F.

A tool car would need a couple of windows or skylights. It gets pretty dark at the ends of a boxcar, even one as small as a two-footer. Maybe a small window at each end would be sufficient.

... or battery-powered lighting.  It's amazing how much light modern LEDs produce with minimum power requirements.

We have been wanting one for a long time, but when all we had was 309, we did not want to loose bunk space. Now that we have boxcar 56, it is time. We have some guys with great organizational skills that can set the inside up sensibly. The rest of us will need to help keep it organized after. Put everything back in its spot, very much like we do with the tool shed. It will be another great project to have completed.

Wayne, this car is framed for windows, done while it was in Bridgton. It was some kind of livestock car, and will be restored to that.
