I recall this photo, posted November 21st 2018 ...

The photo caption was/is "Pusher service for the forklift back up the driveway. Time for tire chains on the forklift."

The "finished"  roundhouse lead is only half spiked every other tie.

I did give Fred a very little help. Hauled one load of fire wood from Alna Center.

I gave Jerry a hard time about that.  The others we didn't find until we were putting everything away, the new lifters were hidden away in a corner behind some other bars.

When I worked on the railroad we referred to them as
nipping bars.
