Already vented, about 1 foot in from the ends. We just need to make sure we can keep the bugs out.

The March Madness today is that the trash crew started clearing the buildings at 7:30 am to be done hauling everything before the storm hit.  The plow crew is not so lucky, they started at 4:30pm and worked until 6:15.  It was hard to keep up with snow falling at 2"+ per hour and 40mph wind gusts but they got things opened up. More will be done on Weds since it's still snowing.  The reason the driveways are cleared even when no one is working at the railroad is in case emergency equipment needs access to the buildings.

Anticipated work for Saturday March 18:

* Snow cleaning: whatever's left from last night's storm.  And there's some more coming Saturday evening to Sunday morning!
* Boxcar 67
* Admiring the new container

In regards to the new container, we need to jack the front up and put the other large timber under it. I am planning on being there but mother nature seems to have other plans..

Work done on Saturday March 18:

* Storage container: we jacked up the front and stuck a big timber under it.  Then we put a few token pieces in just to say we did it.
* Snow clearing: Mike fired up the bulldozer and dozed a path to the storage container, cleared in front of the garage, the car shop, and around the turntable.
* Boxcar: Zack took down one belt rail (on the west side) and put up 2 (on the east side).
* Equipment carrier: The paint was scraped, then Mike started working to shorten the tongue.

Paul, that is the cut-off saw from the shingle mill. It has been outside somewhat covered since we hauled it to Sheepscot. I figured it earned a spot in the container, and was the first item in there.

We will be performing a major clean out of bays 2 and 3 later this spring, whereby we will have some fillings for the container.  Much will be thrown away, and some items will relocate to other than the container, so we won't outright fill it up out of bay 2 by any means.  This will allow us to upgrade the floor in bays 2 and 3, reallocate the use of space, and prepare for a major project to commence this summer.

Good thing Easter's late this year.  Otherwise the field for the egg hunt would need to be plowed.

No service pit, just a moderate duty concrete floor to make it easier to build freight cars, locomotives, etc.

And not rushing to get things in the container, but the few items we took out of the garage made it so much nicer in there. Shelving is definately needed, because we have plenty to put in there.
