There was a lady in Maine who made hats like that, and Dana had her contact information, gave it to Linda in the gift shop, but they were never ordered. Luckily I got the contact info also, and I gave it to the gift shop manager at Conway Scenic, and she got 100 hats last year, and sold all but 5. They were the striped hats, with the denim on the bottom, like the last one shown, and they sold quick. I only had money to buy one at the time, but wished now I had bought 2, since there's no more in my size.

She made the hats cheap to. For the order of 100, Conway Scenic only paid $7.00 per hat, and they were marked up to $15.00 per hat. As of right now the lady is out of business, and it is not known if her daughter will take over.

I don't know what happened at the WW&F, and why they were never ordered, but those are in high demand, and sell 3 times better and faster than regular striped engineer hats.

The lady here in Maine was Anne Moore, of Moore's caps and totes. She used to work for the M&W Cap Co. of Brownsville Jct. Maine.
I still have several caps that I bought from M&W about 40 years ago when I worked for the Lehigh Valley RR.
On the LV the M&W caps were our summer caps, and a Kromer wool blizzard cap was for use in the winter up in the coal regions.
I still have my blizzard cap too....forty years on.
