Repost from RAILSWAP:
Quote
Stolen from my property in Swanville, (Midcoast) Maine. Thieves have made off with a yet-undetermined amount of 12lb and 16lb rail, 5 or more 9ftX3ft flatcar, 8 manual switches and turntable for my 2 1/2T Plymouth gasoline locomotive. All 20in Gauge. As you all know, this stuff is made from "un-obtainium" and cannot be replaced. Reward for information leading to return of my materials. Please contact me through railswap. I thought this stuff was too heavy to steal. I was wrong! Beware! Guard your materials everyone!

Hmmm. Wheels from us, rails from him. What some people must do just to get what they want. Sad. Very sad.

What? Is November Train-Stealing Month?

Here's a recent thread on Fark about equipment going missing from The Swiss Vapeur Park.

Twenty inch is a rather uncommon gauge. Quite large as park-type setups are concerned. The listings in the Discover Live Steam site (linked in the Fark thread) go from two-foot all the way down to two-and-a-half inch and the only twenty-incher is in California. (Yes, the Maine two-footers are listed.)

One of our local contractors lost two spare stationary engines form his gravel pit and located them at a scrap yard.  Cost him lots to buy back his own stuff.  Hope this rail equipment can be located.
