Help the WW&F Get a Grant
« on: July 01, 2011, 06:07:51 AM »
Intuit, makers of Quickbooks (which I use as treasurer to pay our bills and track our money) is sponsoring a $50,000 grant.  All you need to do is vote!  Actually I think the grant gets broken up among several businesses, but still a grant is a grant.

Actually you have to look for "W W & F Railway Museum" (note the spaces between the letters).

I had to type the name in. Should I try again? Like that old Chicago politician once said "Vote early and often!"

I had no trouble by just typing in, "Alna, ME" -and that brought up the original listing. Now that there are two listings everyone should vote for the first one...the one with the most votes already...yes?!

The direct link to cast a vote for the WW&F is:
http://lovealocalbusiness.intuit.com/business/W-W--F-Railway-Museum/165097?vtid=email_conf_fan

You do have to put in a username, email address, and comment in order to vote.
Feel free to pass this link on to friends, neighbors, and other supporters.

There is a way to merge duplicate names.  I'll have to figure it out.

You can only vote once, unfortunately.

Of course, if you have more than one e-mail address......nudge, nudge, wink, wink.

I get an error why I try to go direct.

Tom,
- There seems to be occasional site errors with their server. Just retry and you should be fine.
- They just had a grant contest that completed 6/30, I suspect they haven't updated the fine print on the web page, yet.

As of right now we are at #10 with 25 votes!  Spread the word!

Intuit has monthly contests.  The  email from Intuit arrived this morning, so I'd say it's for the month of July.

I just checked, and the WW&F is in third place with 72 votes. If everyone who belongs to this board voted, we'd blow the No. 1 group (127 votes) out of the water. Step up, folks.
