Missing Wheels

Upon my arrival to the museum today, one thing I noticed was a stack of wheels that I had placed near the machine shop was missing. They were to be used on the mower car I am constructing. Due to this, the mower is now on hold. It was a matched set of 4 wheels, very little wear, with one wheel having a bead of weld around the tire.

The museum is a volunteer driven organization that relys on donations such as these wheels to complete smaller projects. Saving the funds for larger projects. Removal of the wheels puts my project behind and possibly derails it.

Have the cops check scrap metal dealers. Might get the police to ask such dealers to notify them if anything "railroady" is ever brought in for sale.

I would think scrap metal but they walked by a drum full of heavier items. I have a lead or two. Hopefully they find their way back without much more effort than this.

Still no wheels. Dwight tells me the bead on the one was for ice cutting. Interesting. Still hope they return.

Hey Mike.  Have you seen item #170683380555  on Ebay?  I don't know if anyone has suggested this idea and if it even worth doing but since this is not a historic car and will benefit from being light weight for turning purposes maybe these will work.  They can be made in various sizes.

Those wheels would be great for something that didn't thrash like this mower is going to. Would shake the plastic right off the axles.
