Looks like Fred will be busy for a while.

Exactly what I thought just now when I saw Brendan's photos.  We'll have a hard time keeping up with Fred and his chainsaw.
What–me worry?

At the pace Fred's going at, we need to find some more ROW for all the ties he's making for us!

Mice sabotaged us today. Ate through the fuel line on the boom truck..

And the dozer died and would not restart. Checked it over andfigure the coil is bad. Picked up a new one..

Hoping tomorrow goes better..

Closer examination reveals that it’s the result of a moose trout bite...

How are we going to keep TRACK of that moose trout?

I visited the bridge site this afternoon.  Here's a couple of pictures from it:

Looking at the south bents, with the grade showing as the tree tunnel beyond.

The worksite as a whole.  Can you spot Fred's honorary supervisor chair?

I rather like the look of that plate rolling machine.

What is the lower gray cross timber's function on the south bridge bent?
BTW, the parking lot now looks like Honest Fred's Slightly Used Railway Parts.  ;D

The temporary steel bridge sits on that support cross timber. Then the temporary bridge will be decked with ties so the Trout Brook Ridge can be rolled across by the movers and lowered into its final place. Then the cribbing can be removed and the two temporary bridges slid out and returned to Sheepscot.

Finally, a decent day. And got a lot done. There are now 11 blocks set. Did 5 by myself, using the kubota as my fine tuning machine. Start came up in the afternoon and helped me set the final 4 of the day. He then got the treat of holding onto Clancy's wheel as she was towed by Casey to solid ground..

8 blocks on Clancy..

I came up with a new method to get the block to the crane. I unloaded the truck and drove the truck into position, then lugged the blocks to it. Dozer does not like this new method, but we made it..

1st block this morning..

Found an old track bolt when digging for the 3rd tier block

End of day.

Brookside..

I also cemented in the hook holes to keep water from standing on the block, then possibly freezing.
