Bill,  Thanks for the photos.  It really shows what Mountain Mike and our contractor have accomplished so far this summer.  I can't wait to get up there next week and walk the ROW myself.  Although during the following three and a half weeks I will be giving plenty of opportunities to help get things done up there.

Those footage markers started at the EOT just before the Clark property, and they stop about 600ft before the bridge. If I remember correctly.

When does the culvert at location  10 get set in place?

Bills location 10 is actually location 9. And his location 11is actually location 10. There used to be stakes there marking, but had been tossed aside.

Location 9, we are waiting for the permit from the Army Corps. Contractor Jeff wants to haul the material in from the access road, versus across the bridge next year. So this moves up our culvert installation to this year.. Contractor Jeff will help so we can do it quicker.

Alex, you are correct. If, and I mean if, we get location 9 and 10 done this year, there is potential to lay probably close to 1600 feet. But that depends if we can get it ready in time. 1400 feet is about half way from EOT to Trout Brook..

Thanks Mike.  I was confused by a stake on the ground for location 10, which I thought was much closer to actual location 9 than actual location 10.  I've updated my photos post to reflect the correction.  Hopefully that didn't diminish my point on the work that has been done and that which remains.

Thank you all for the photographic record of progress on the ROW!  Although being from away, we plus our daughter's family, 5 total, plan to visit from 8/17 - 8/20.  Looking forward to seeing all the work.  We'll being staying at the Wiscassett Lodge.

Mike asked me to post this drawing which shows the curves from the current End-of-Track through the "Pinch Point" (Location 6).

The map Ed posted goes from Location 1 on the left to Location 8 on the right. The center line is going to be the new center. It pretty much follows the grade except at the pinch point. The crooked lines on the outside of the center line are the existing roadbed. The only place this is incorrect is where the pinch point is, where the existing roadbed follows the skid road. The original center at the pinch point would have been where the straight line of the wall show up.

For additional referrence, the slide was between stars 7 & 8.

Hi ! Back from vacation I've just finished reading all those very interesting comments and looking at the photos. I'm downright awed by  all the work that has been carried out by Mike and his crew on the ROW since July 7 th and by  those who plan and organise the works year long on the RR . Bravo you all ! Thanks to Bill Reidy  and the others for their very interesting photos and comments that help a lot to be fully aware of the work that has been done and of the work than will be done.

All of you guy and the Kobotas are demonstrating awsome earth-moving skills. So many new culverts in place! What did the railway use for culverts in the original WW&F Railway days? Certainly they did not have any 48 inch ones?
