Photo taken Friday (at Alna Center) during the afternoon charter. 60+ riders and one rainy, rainy day!

Hopefully this picture was taken from the comfort of the front passenger seat of your vehicle parked on Averill Road.  ;)

I was indeed on Averill Rd., but in order to limit the time my camera would spend out in the rain, waited inside the truck, then flung the door open and jumped up on the running board as the train approached! I still got wet, but not nearly as soaked as Steve and Dwight did crewing the train!

Thanks Steve, nice photo!

It stirred memories of watching Edaville trains from across the bogs, only better!  THAT'S how steam train are SUPPOSED to look!

Wow. Nice pic Steve. Do you think it may be possible to add some more of the other pictures that you took from yesterdays event?

Thanks all! Here's another taken in the pouring rain, this time at Jaynes Way...

Joe Fox at the throttle. Joe's got his Maine State Boiler Operators License and at the end of the day took No 10 and coach 8 out for a spin...congrats, Joe!!

Wow. Thanks Steve. Love the first pic, with the train in the rain. Very prototypical I think. It doesn't get much better than that, and even better yet, you don't see many pictures of a mixed train in the rain.

Steve,
The B&W is a perfect shot for early part of the last century when no color shots were made.

Yes, the B&W image shows the size of the rain drops real well. I too was all to familiar with those persistant things Friday. I recieved 4 inches here, while 5 miles away, my father only got 2.5.

My sister reports that she arrived at her place up in Hope to find 10 inches of water in the cellar.  Sump pump time.  She's had the place for over 20 years and never had anything but minor wetness before.
