Dave, That's right next to The Mountain.  And we'll have two of them one on each side of "The rollercoaster."

Every one way trip includes a splash at Trout Brook.  :D

The Ladder

Talk of "The Ladder" reminds me of the story of two drunks found crawling down in the gauge of a mainline railroad. The one turned to the other and said..."Wow, this is the longest staircase I have EVER been on." The other replied...."Yeah, but it wouldn't be so bad if the handrails weren't so low!"

The RAMP. If you can't stop your train at the red flag, than you will ride the Ramp. The ramp is two rail lenghts long (60Ft) one end is rised, leveled and tamped main line track. The rails have a ramp that takes the track down to the ties that are still sitting on the ground, so we can build more track in the fall.

Over in Gorham, New Hampshire, there is a steep hill on Route 2. Near the bottom of the hill there is a "truck escape" that consists of a ramp off to the side filled with loose gravel. The idea is that if a truck's brakes fail, the driver can go onto that ramp and come to a stop. Maybe we should install a large pile of ballast a few feet beyond the red flag.  :)

Maybe not such a bad idea as it could be spread out where needed for the October weekend.  ;)
