The bad news:
The original MAINE TWO-FOOTERS book listed above sold the first week.

The good news:
Hearing that a number of people were interested in the first edition, a museum member has donated an original 1959 Linwood Moody MAINE TWO-FOOTERS book from his personal collection.  The book is in very good condition, has the dust jacket and both maps in the back.  The dust jacket has slight wear and the maps look brand new.  The price is $65 plus $3.58 tax if purchased in the gift shop.  Mail order shipping is $12. This is one of the nicest editions we've had in a number of years so message or call the gift shop manager today.

Work weekends featuring lots of busy folks sporting those special shirts, and even WW&F caps, would really impress riders and worldwide website visitors mightily, I'm sure.  ;)
Organization and pride would shine.  :D

Well, as of 7 PM tonight we have already sold 10 shirts so there's a good chance that many will sport theirs this weekend, especially with temps in the mid - upper 70s'.

There will be a special Lantern Sale this weekend, offered to SWW attendees.  Prices range from $10 - $400 for lanterns from standard gauge and narrow gauge lines.  Pictures of some of the lanterns are on Facebook.

Here are a few of the road names:

AMTRAK - 1989 Electric Star lantern

CONRAIL - Star Electric lantern

B&M - Boston & Maine tall globe

C&S - Colorado & Southern tall globe Adlake lantern with a clear etched C. & S. Ry globe.

D&RG RR - Denver & Rio Grande tall (green) globe. Made prior to the merge that created the D&RGW.

GTRy - Grand Trunk Railway, Portland Maine.  Tall globe bell bottom Adlake with a clear cast GTR globe.

LIRR - Long Island Rail Road short globe Armspear lantern.

MCRR - There are a number of Maine Central lanterns including tall globe and Dietz Vesta models.  One is a rare version Vesta with the Waterville bail handle.

MRR - Monon Route tall globe Rayo lantern with a blue cast MONON ROUTE globe.

NYCS - New York Central System short globe locomotive lantern.

NYNH&H - New Haven tall globe Adlake with a red cast NYNH&HRR globe.

PRR - Pennsylvania Railroad short globe lantern with a red freshnel globe.

SRR - Southern Railway short globe Adlake.

WRR - Wabash Railroad tall globe bell bottom (frame not marked) clear cast WABASH "Follow the Flag" globe.

WW&F Railway - Two WW&F short globe Adlake lanterns from the 1998 series approved by Harry Percival.  The top is marked "WW&F" on one side and "RAILWAY" is spelled out on the other.  There were 50 made at the time, one lantern is weathered while the other is brand new shiny out of the box it has been in for 20 years.  Both have the original tin coating that was discontinued after this series was made.  Adlake no longer dips lanterns in tin coating.

WW&F RY CO - Two WW&F 25th Anniversary short globe lanterns, one clear globe and one red globe.  25 were made and there are 4 left.  These two have been marked down just for the weekend.  The stamping is "WW&F RY CO" which is how Carson Peck had the original lanterns marked when he bought the railroad in 1907.

The back story on the first set of WW&F Railway lanterns:

In May of 1998, Harry Percival, Allan Fisher and Stewart Rhine discussed doing something for the museum's 10th Anniversary that would take place the following year.  They decided that producing  new hand lanterns would be a good fund raiser.  Allan donated the funds for Adlake to produce the lanterns, Stewart designed the lettering and Harry provided the number stamps to mark each lantern which was done in the Sheepscot depot. The tin lanterns were numbered 50 - 99 and the brass lanterns were numbered 1 - 10. The brass lanterns sold in a week with #9 being retained by the museum to use on engine #9. We secretly kept brass #1 and presented it to Harry one night at dinner as a "Thank You" for starting the museum that brought us all together.  Harry's family still has the lantern.

There has been a lot of interest in the lanterns and 6 of them have already been spoken for.  The gift shop crew will have the shop open Friday morning so everyone can see the collection and make purchases.
