Images from the shop(s)
« on: March 15, 2009, 09:18:31 AM »
Sheepscot is a beehive of activity with so many upcoming events, and the operating season fast approaching.
Here's a glimpse of just a bit of it from Saturday 3-14-09...and of course there was more going on that I missed photo ops of, including another great lunch that Fred put together! Thanks again, Fred!

Josh, expertly bending conduit for the upgrades to the electrical system...

Bob worked the big drill press...

as Linda was busy readying the giftshop...

Zack cut trim boards in the shop extension...

while Mike made special joint bars...and lots of sparks!

Great pictures as usual!  The ones of Mike at the grinder are especially nice.  I can't wait to get to Sheepscot to see all the progress.

Speaking of Fred, here's the master chef at work:

Steve, Great new thread.  The "special joint bars" must be for connecting the old and new rail sections for the shop extension.

Yes John, I think Fred had a hidden tallent he never told any one about. That cake he was working on there was delicious.

Yes, Stewart, the special joint bars were used to connect Bays 2 and 3. While we were at it, 3 or 4 joint bars in the old section of track was worked on. Bolts were tightened and/or replaced. One joint bar was replaced. Four new special bars for bay 1 will be made this week and should be installed next Saturday.

Thanks Stephen for posting the photo while I was typing a reply.

That picture is of bay 2, East rail. Going from 20 something pound rail to I think 46 0r 50#. A big size difference.
