Yup. Was exhausted then put the brakes on..

John Deere is in pieces. Parts have been ordered and should be in soon. Brendan went to town on that once it was inside. He took a bunch of pics last week, so I have not.

The Forklift will also be getting some attention this winter. Several troublesome issues to be addressed.

Friday 1/8 I will be taking a light engine trip up the line to check crossings (flangeways and step clearances) for Saturdays trains if anyone is up for a ride. I should be there about 9am, after a stop in Portland.

How much I miss experiencing these views (perhaps without a pick clearing the flangeways).  Better times later this year.  Thanks Mike.
What–me worry?

Work done on Saturday Jan 9:

* Top of Mtn: A good-sized section was cut and burned up, next to the tracks as they come up the hill on the west side.
* Boxcar 56: Marcel and Zack brought in newly-purchased siding and milled out the center groove, and they worked on removing the needle beams without removing the flooring.
* Steam & Sleighs: well attended.
* Board meeting.

This is what we started with this morning...

Brian and I had this little fire going very easily.

It did not stay little long.

10:30 train had arrived, and there was just a beauty to it.

More burning

Done for today

Thanks for the report Mike. Your first and last pic quite  show perfectly how steep  the grade is before reaching TOM.

Will there be volunteer activities this Saturday 1-16-21 even though the events have been cancelled?  If so, what time and where?

We will be there doing something. The main focus will be a charter this weekend. I don't anticipate much outdoor activity due to the forecasted rain.
