Happens with every building we build, including the garage.

I know expansion is a compromise between current need, future needs, available or projected funds, available space, available volunteer power, etc.  We are constantly chasing our own success.  More rolling stock, more locomotives, more off rail equipment, more MOW equipment, more facilities for our visitors (parking, walks, ticketing, etc.) more activities.

Considering where we started, or looking at any previous point in our growth, what we continue to accomplish is just amazing.  When I watch the activities that go on during the year, it makes me want to move to Maine... However the Maine winters and the spousal relocation is just a mite to great.

Everyone keep up the tremendous work that you are doing and I will be there in the Spring, Summer and Fall to help out as I can.

Thank you so much for the pics that show that things are come along fast in Sheepscot as well . In France a lot of tourist railroads share the lack of room to store and shelter the rollingstock especially over the off-season, the AMTP is no exception.

Are the boards on the north end of the bump-out from the old South wall, or re-used and cut down from the old East wall?

The boards are off of the old south wall.

Yesterday, Zack and I finished installing the fascia boards on the south end overhang.  This part was completed by lunch time.  After lunch, James and I installed the east side fascia strips that finish the "bump out" display area's roof.  Other than covering the end boards with Azek, the roof structure is ready for tin.

That stuff is interesting. It's a solid PVC product. The thing that gets you is thermal expansion/contraction. In terms of dimensional stability, wood is most sensitive to moisture (rather than temperature), and mostly so only perpendicular to the grain. With the PVC stuff you really have to watch your gaps in the long dimension, because it MOVES.

It also comes in smooth or woodgrain finish, the latter of which is what I used on the Pavilion. Expansion and contraction is controlled by using lots of screws.

No, it will be all tin. There will be large windows all the way around and electric will be wired in at some point so the display area can have lighting.

In looking at the two pictures above and what is called on FB as the bump out or museum area as opposed to the rolling stock display area I happened to notice that the north end of the car barn extension museum area had been closed off.  I thought the plan was to extend this museum area further to the north until it was stopped to keep from impinging on the north yard turn table track.

Or, is this a temporary stopping point until projects and funding catch up?

Could I be wrong?  Not so early in the year....
