Another bundle of ties cut today. One-half done, however  we'll need more.

Mountain Tamping tomorrow, Saturday June 29, 2019.

The tamper has been delivered to ToM, and we are planning on hosting a tamping party, led by our infamous, oop I mean famous president Dave Buczkowski.  Hoping Bill joins him; also they’d very much appreciate 1-3 additional hands to feed ballast into the beast as it goes.

The mountain trackage is scheduled to see a fair amount of work/ ferry traffic over the upcoming weeks.  We’d like the existing lift job to be well supported so that traffic doesn’t undo that work.  Tomorrow is our best day to hit it.

Request that the tamping crew drive in, to avoid some rail transportation conflicts tomorrow.

Thanks,
Jason

I suggest bringing a string trimmer for the railroad end of Judy's road. The grass is tall and full of ticks. Also, please limit the vehicle traffic on that road. Ride with someone if possible. We do have permission to use it, but I just don't want to over do it.

Yes -- I plan to join He Who Likes To Volunteer Me tomorrow on the Mountain.

A couple of shovelers joining us would be most welcome.
What–me worry?

Dwight and I cut another bundle of ties. There were 7 bad ones in that bundle of 42. The bad ones we'll use when we start stacking rail. Only 11 bundles left to do. Sometime this summer we have to get the wood from the roadbed that we cut last winter.

A truck load of 400 ties will be ordered soon to make sure we have the ties we may need for Oct. and for any ties replaced this summer.
