Free Press article on S.D. Warren engine restoration
« on: August 30, 2018, 08:53:53 PM »
Nice story with color photos on Pg 12 in today's Free Press (Rockland ME) about BRV's restoration of the S. D. Warren 0-4-0 saddle tank engine.

The link is https://freepressonline.com/ftp/Frontpage/freepress/currentissue.pdf

With my provider, Spectrum's roadrunner, the download was kind of slow. Maybe the Free Press has a slow server? Eventually I got Page 1 and then could scroll down to Pg. 12 quickly.

Thanks for the link Steve. I experienced the same slow download - I think you’re right about their server. I enjoyed the historical write up.

A similar article appeared in the Wiscasset Newspaper:

Congratulations to Boothbay on another well-done restoration.

And congratulations to Boothbay for promoting their latest achievement in the press.  These are two well-written articles.  Like their shop crew, their marketing department is on the ball.
What–me worry?

Thanks, Bill, for alerting us to the write-up in the Wiscasset Newspaper--with quite a bit more information that the Free Press had. I bet the Sept. 8th presentation by Ron Ginger at BRV will be very interesting.

Steve P is doing his best to bring our "marketing department" up to the standard of BRV.  We can all help support him with local contacts and contributed materials.  Next major SPLASH:  the bridge with all its moving parts over the next few weeks.

The local media should lap it up as we give it to them...

Having a bridge travelling down the road should have even the TV stations there for such a rare occurrence.

I hope the museum does their own video of the move.
