Fall work weekend 2018
« on: August 23, 2018, 02:05:38 PM »
My partner and I want to attend the Fall work weekend. Can we camp in a tent onsite? I know there are bunks upstairs, but a bit more privacy would be desirable.

Russ, camping on site has been done in the past in the field at Alna Center. Most of the land is not ours, and I would advise stopping by Albee's farm stand and asking permission. Tom is a great guy and will probably not deny you. For directions to his farm stand and the road to Alna Center, PM me if interested.

Camping has also been done on the WW&F ROW heading south of Sheepscot.

Just don't camp over a culvert.  One of our volunteers did that one night and was kept up by the beavers using it as a thru-way.  He earned a nickname after that...

That sounds quite tolerable, thanks for the suggestion. Much better than trying to pitch a tent on a flat car! Or on the turntable -- some joker would think it was funny to try to make us dizzy in the wee hours of the night.

Well you know, you could wake up with side effects of a hang over without ever touching a drink.  ;D
