Mike...I skipped a word.
Will the access/construction road become, where possible, a permanent "service lane" for  the Mountain Extension when  track reaches Location 18, but as you state, blocked to 218 traffic?
There...I said it.  ;)

No permanent service lanes. We will have our usual private access points, and we should only use them when we have permission and absolutely necessary.

Anticipated work for weekend of June 9:

* Mountain Extension: Mike will probably place another culvert.
* Percival House: finishing the stairs (railings/etc).
* Track maintenance: more ballasting?  Tamping?  If the tamper's ready it would also be nice to jack and tamp the mainline by the station to make it level again.
* Machine shop/wood shop
* Caboose 320 cupola
* Board meeting Saturday at 4

I have hopes of ballasting today, which will prep for tamping to be done on the main line on Saturday (hopefully). There are plans to build some retaining walls this year for Sheepscot, and a few other areas so that need them so that the ballast does not continue to go down the hill sides. Ideally this will be done before jacking and tamping the track.

Hoping the contractor is able to deliver gravel for us this week. That will take care of the soft spot so Fred can get to the wood.
I plan on installing the entrance culvert. This will require removing a small tree we did not cut, a log it is growing out of, and another loose log in the ditch. Most of the boulders (saving 2 for road blocks) that are near there will be used to help fill in the area we need to. Hoping that after lunch I can start grading between locations 17 and 16.
I then want to move all the stones I found the were for the section house to one location and place the found steel items on top.

Work done on Saturday June 9:

* Mountain Extension: Contractor delivered gravel yesterday evening so Mike graded, and put in another culvert.
* Percival House: Stairs are done.
* Track maintenance: Tamper is back in service.  I tried it out on the mainline by the station where we had leveled it last year but the tamper had died.  It works great.  It has a new improved squeeze function which really works well.  One flatcar has a load of stone for weekday crew, and the other flatcar is hoping somebody unloads the ties from it.
* Caboose 320: Marcel has been making wood pieces slightly smaller.  The wood he's using for the window/corner frames is largely Douglas Fir.
* Bridge: the bridge is now officially ours, it was turned over to us around noon.  At the board meeting we OK'd staining (don't say painting, Mike will correct you) it B&M red.
* Railcar: Leon and Stewart worked valiantly to fix the fuel issue, but with no success.
* Board meeting.

Not McGinnis B&M blue?  So sad!

Sorry.  The stain color choice is great and very appropriate!

Great news on all the progress today!  Glad to hear the improved tamper is working well.
What–me worry?

It’s a Sherwin Williams color known as Rockwood Red or, as Mike and I call it, Rock Ridge Red. Knowing tha he brought a ( three rolls of) dimes to the board meeting may help you understand.

Now that's a STAIRS!
Great job.
Paint it, except the handrail tops and treads, building trim white? Former readers of Better Homes and Garages want to know.   ;D
And will you all replace the house's now-gone east handicap ramp, or build another stairway to the 'orphaned'  east doorway and porch, or just remove them?

The east door will have a new smaller porch built with steps leading down to the area in front of the cellar door.
