I've Been Working on the Railroad song remixed by a railroader
« on: February 28, 2018, 07:48:16 PM »
While listening to kids songs, it is fun to change them up a bit. I modified I've been working on the railroad to...

I've been working on the railroad
All the live long day
I've been working on the railroad
Just to work my life away
Can't you hear the conductor snoring
Rise up so early in the morn
Can't he hear the train horn blowing
Dinah, blow your horn
Dinah won't you blow
Dinah won't you blow
Dinah, won't you blow your horn
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow,
Dinah, won't you blow your horn
Someone's in the engine with dinah
Someone's in the engine I know
Someone's in the engine with dinah
Strumming on the old banjo
Fee fie fiddle ee ll o
Fee fie fiddle ee ll o o o o
Fee fie fiddle ee ll o
Strumming on the old banjo

Oh No, someone's is in the engine with Dinah.....

Now the rumors will start to fly.....

Who is the engineer in the engine with Dinah?

Surely it couldn't be a fireman in the engine with Dinah.....

Does the conductor know Dinah has asked for a cab ride?

BTW, this begs the question, who is this new volunteer Dinah?

Long, long ago, whilst I was living in England, I learned the following little rhyme.

"Daddy's on the engine, don't be afraid;
We'll soon be out of danger, cried the little maid:
Daddy's on the engine, don't you ever fear:
Everybody's safe because my daddy's the engineer."

Think about that!

John, I knew you were a bit older than me, but I didn't realize you could remember the age of the Dinah Shore! (Said the caveman with a lisp)
(Comment directed at John McNamara. So many Johns here!)

I thought that I saw this video posted on this site, but perhaps not. A little something from the C&O. This is Fulton Yard, down along the James River. I used to be qualified down there, but I'm too far off key now.

Well, I can't get this thing to play here, for some reason. If you want to see some neat railroad harmony, type in "Richmond Railroad Quartet" in the search area of youtube. It should be the first selection.
