Humason Brook Trestle

(1/1)

Mike Fox:
During the Fall Work Weekend, a small crew built this retaining wall, and today the repair was completed by the installation of the rest of the erosion stones. The retaining wall is needed to prevent further erosion, and provide a footing for the Mud Sill that sits behind it. An excellent and quick solution, to what could have developed into a huge problem.

Steve Smith:
Mike, is this the south end of the trestle?

Bill Baskerville:
Steve,

This is the South East End of the Trestle.  If you look closely you can see a couple of steel plates that were added a few years ago to raise the track as the South East end was settling.

Right below the steel plates you can also see the track-side magneto telephone line as it exits an underground pipe from a nearby phone terminal and enters the pipe that carries it amidst the trestle timbers.

Steve Smith:
Thanks, Bill and John.
