37th National Narrow Gauge Convention

This year the National Narrow Gauge Convention is in Denver, CO.  Ira Schreiber was going to man an informational booth for us this year there, but due to an accident and hospital stay he will be unable to attend the convention for us.  Is there anyone going that would be willing to man a booth there for a few hours each day?  Or at least make sure that the literature is still there?

It is too late for a refund - so if we can find someone to put out the literature and put it away, then at least we'll have something there.

Is there a public building (aka convention center) near Wiscasset?

Last year's was at the Augusta (ME) civic center, and I think it was one of the best possible places it could have been.  There's nothing closer that size, although Portland is a little further away.  I don't believe Lewiston/Auburn have a similar location.

Perhaps a consortium of the Maine museum's could work together to make it happen. From what I heard the Augusta convention center was a excellent site and easy to work with.

Could always file the paperwork to create a non-profit that exists just to host the convention. Have each of the museums own 25%. It's a way to isolate the liability and the surplus profits can be donated to the non-profit museums that hold the seats on the board.

It's an excellent marketing opportunity.
